RETREAT ASSISTANT

Purpose

Reporting to Uplands directors, the Retreat Assistant will provide on-site support during retreats, including guest service and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the retreat space. This is a contract position in which the Retreat Assistant will be called upon on an as-needed basis.

 

Duties

In collaboration with directors, the Retreat Assistant will:

  • Arrange and prepare bedrooms and common areas for guest use
  • Greet guests and acquaint them with the retreat space
  • Be present to field and respond to guests’ questions and requests
  • In collaboration with group leader and other Uplands staff people, coordinate implementation of retreat agendas and facilitation plans, including adjustments
  • Ensure cleanliness of retreat venue and compliance with all safety regulations
  • Restock items in common spaces
  • Liaise with kitchen crew and provide additional support when necessary
  • Perform night watch duties
  • Other tasks, as required

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • An undergraduate degree or at least 2 years of applicable experience
  • Strong verbal communication in English and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage an agenda
  • Comfort working in a team
  • Detail-oriented
  • Eye toward aesthetics / ambiance

Preferred

–    Prior experience working in the hospitality sector

–    Experience coordinating logistics for events

 

Candidates must be present for an on-site interview and training.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
