Yoga for Every Body

“Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj”, which means “to yoke” or “to join”, representing the union of the self with the greater universe. The word “yoga” can also be interpreted as the union of mind, body, and spirit. Both in its roots and in its modern applications, yoga is viewed as a practice to calm and focus the mind, open the body, and connect with the breath; all of which brings greater harmony and clarity in our lives.
At The Uplands, complimentary yoga classes can be personalized for each group, whether the interest is in a flowing Vinyasa practice, a slow restorative class, or something in-between. Yoga at The Uplands is for “every body” – we welcome all to participate, from seasoned yogis to those who are just getting started. Props such as chairs, bolsters and blocks are offered for modification of poses, and simple mindfulness techniques are shared throughout the class.
