Retreat Spotlight: McPherson Strategies

Retreat Spotlight: McPherson Strategies

In May, The Uplands was pleased to host McPherson Strategies, a boutique communications and social impact firm that works to amplify progressive causes including reproductive rights, child-led home education, and environmental sustainability.

After the group arrived for their restorative retreat, they enjoyed a bowl of hearty tomato basil soup with cornbread. Their activities kicked off with free time, including a massage in order to help them settle in and exhale after many months of demanding work. After a nourishing supper featuring pistachio encrusted salmon, pasta primavera, roasted vegetables and rhubarb cheesecake, the group gathered to witness a colorful sunset, followed by a bonfire where they set their intentions for their retreat.

The following morning was spent reviewing the firm’s mission, vision and values. Afterwards, the team members developed vision boards in The Uplands’ art studio. After a lunch of smoky cauliflower frittata and salmon romaine wedges, the group enjoyed free time during which they explored the grounds and relaxed on the patios overlooking the sweeping landscape, interspersed with headshots taken by a local photographer. That evening boasted another spectacular sunset, which accompanied the group as they enjoyed their dinner featuring fiddleheads, a seasonal wild delicacy.

Their final morning at The Uplands began with an optional yoga and breath work class, followed by breakfast and a branding workshop.

Thank you, McPherson Strategies, for your dedication to meaningful social impact.
