Retreat Spotlight: Putnam Hospital

Retreat Spotlight: Putnam Hospital

Putnam Hospital doctors came to the Uplands for a much needed retreat. It is no secret that those working in mental units within hospital systems bear witness to suffering and trauma day in and day out. Mental health workers have some of the highest rates of burnout. Then add in a global pandemic that isolated psychiatric residents from families, increased the inflow of patients and crises, and more.

These folks engaged in wellness and self-care workshops, and participated in yoga, wellness walks, talking circles, and more. Our hope is that this group leaves our center feeling rejuvenated, and that they go back to their work new tools to better tend to their often overlooked self care needs.

Putnam Hospital, thank you for your work in the world! You have helped so many in dire navigate this era of isolation and pandemic survival.
